Use case · AI agents

You don't wait on agents. Agents wait on you.

Copy an agent's thread link onto the task that started the work, delay it a few minutes, and get on with something else. Come back to the thread when the task returns. Your email, issues and tasks stay in one plan, alongside Health and Happiness.

HWH — WorkA task waiting on an agent

Where the time goes

More agents, more to keep track of.

Agents were meant to take work off our plate. In practice each one hands work back: a question, a diff to review, a permission prompt, a finished run waiting for a reply. With several running at once, the hard part is no longer the work. It's remembering which thread needs you, and why you started it.

01

Threads

scattered across windows and projects, each waiting on a different reply.

02

Context

the email or issue that started the work lives somewhere else.

03

Strays

sessions nobody connected to a task, left open for later.

04

Hours

the evening goes to one more review, and the rest of the day loses out.

NO. 01

Copy the thread link. Return when it suits you.

Watching an agent work is just waiting. In HWH you hand the thread back to your plan and move to the next task, so the agent waits for you instead, and you decide when it gets your attention. The manual link workflow needs no direct agent integration.

01

Copy the link, press ⌘U

Copy a thread link from your agent. Back in HWH, press ⌘U on the current task. HWH saves it as the Working URL, delays the task 5 minutes, and brings up the next task. Use a link your Mac can open.

02

Return to the thread

With Auto Open URL enabled, HWH opens the working link when the task becomes current again. With it off, open the link yourself. If the agent needs more time, delay the task again for 5, 10 or 20 minutes.

03

The task keeps its context

The original source stays attached, so you can see why you asked before reading the reply. For a task with a source link, press R to restore that link and open it.

The delay is a reminder you choose. HWH does not detect whether the agent has finished.

⌘U and R are the default Work shortcuts. Unlock Keyboard Shortcuts in the in-app Store and check your assignments in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts. Plain U opens the Working URL editor.

Optional

Or let agents add tasks themselves.

MCP

Connect an agent to HWH through its local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It can read your plan, search tasks and create a follow-up with notes and a link.

AppleScript

Use scripts on your Mac to create tasks, move through the plan and sync sources.

Shortcuts

Use HWH actions in Apple Shortcuts to add follow-ups to your plan from an automation.

The other two thirds

Agents don't get tired. You do.

HWH plans across Health, Wealth and Happiness, plus Work or your own areas. Balance Coach compares the time you tracked against the balance you intended, so you can see when agent reviews have taken the evening.

  • —Put the walk in the plan. It sits in the same queue as the review.
  • —See the drift. Planned against actual, by area.
  • —Stop when the plan says stop. Finishing the list is the point, not a longer one.
NO. 02

Fit, limits and questions.

Who this fits

  • Developers running several coding agents across projects.
  • Founders and operators whose agent work starts in email and issue trackers.
  • Anyone whose evenings have started going to one more review.

Honest limitation: HWH doesn't run agents for you, and in the App Store edition it doesn't read agent threads on its own. You bring a thread in by copying its link, or an agent adds a task through MCP, AppleScript or Shortcuts. The 5-minute delay does not check agent progress or signal completion.

Questions people ask

Is HWH free?

Yes. HWH is free on the Mac App Store, and every feature can be earned through normal use. There is an optional one-time Founder Pack.

Does HWH pick up agent threads by itself?

Not in the App Store edition. Copy a thread link onto a task with the default ⌘U shortcut, or configure an agent to add tasks through MCP, AppleScript or Shortcuts. The delay does not detect agent completion.

Which AI agents work with HWH?

The manual workflow uses a thread or session link that your Mac can open. Try your agent's copied link before adding it to a task. Agents that support MCP, AppleScript or Shortcuts can also be configured to add tasks.

Does HWH send my tasks to an AI provider?

Pasting a working link does not send your task to an AI provider. The optional AI Assistant sends prompts and task context to your selected external provider when you use it. An agent you connect through automation can also read task data and process it under that agent's own settings. Read the privacy policy for integration details.
